The philosophy at NLH MONASTIRAKI reflects its neighborhood – quiet elegance, authentic and honest hospitality in a warm, friendly setting. In a stately building in the heart of Athens dating back to 1833, just 300 meters from Monastiraki Square, NLH MONASTIRAKI marries old world charm and contemporary comfort.

With 36 beautifully appointed rooms and suites and 12 different room types, the one thing you can be sure of, is that NLH MONASTIRAKI promises a singularly different experience for each of its guests. The interiors retain the stone facade and wrought iron balconies that defined the architectural language of the 19th century.

Done up in muted shades of apple green, teal and dusty pink, with designer light fixtures and smart use of space, the rooms have been modelled to optimize comfort. The calm and serenity indoors contrasts with the high-octane activity on the bustling Athinas and Pallados streets, exuding Athens’ unstoppable energy. 

The Standard Rooms at NLH MONASTIRAKI offer great value-for-money stays;  the Lofts offer a singularly different experience spread across two levels; while the spacious Suites are designed to accommodate the needs of our most demanding guests.

Each room includes at least one bathroom with professional hairdryers, cotton slippers and luxury toiletries. Standard fixtures in all rooms include a work desk, a 43'' Smart TV with satellite channels, a laptop safe and a mini fridge. Free WiFi access is provided throughout.

As you walk into the stylish reception area, you absorb the philosophy of easy elegance. Everything in this iconic building is a reminder of its rich history, but it comes through in a very accessible, organic way. Done up in rich black and white marble, the reception area on the ground floor, transports you to a gentler, more civilized era. Walk up to the first floor for a quiet coffee at the lobby bar or grab a snack from the “neighborfood” corner, through our vending machines that operate round-the-clock. Colorful artworks and neon lettering add to the lobby's youthful vibe. The same floor also hosts a meeting area, and a fitness area for gym enthusiasts.

NLH MONASTIRAKI's rooftop bar is a vantage point that overlooks Athens’ layered past, from its markets redolent of the smells and spices of the Levant, to its Byzantine churches that date back several centuries. Sip on a signature cocktail with a breath-taking view of the Acropolis, and get inside the city’s state of mind.

Extra services include a 24-hour front desk. Restaurants, bars and shops can be found just a few steps away from NLH MONASTIRAKI, some of whom have been around for well over a century, lending the neighborhood its unique color and character.
